How to Get More Engagement with Instagram Stories

Get more instagram engagement with instagram stories

Instagram stories first launched in 2016 and have gained massive popularity over the years.

Instagram stories can facilitate the most authentic interactions between a customer and brand – more so than any other social media platform.

Here are some strategies to get more engagement with your Instagram stories.

1 – Post different content on stories than feed posts

Instagram stories have now become so popular that they could easily be considered a separate social media platform. By posting different content on your Instagram stories you are able to share more value with your followers. Content on Instagram stories can be more casual, authentic and less polished than typical Instagram feed posts. It’s providing an opportunity to show your audience a “behind the scenes” look inside of your brand. Considering that Instagram stories disappear after 24 hours there is less pressure for perfection which can ultimately build stronger connections with your audience.

2 – Always have a purpose

Along with posting anything online, there should always be a purpose behind what you are posting on Instagram stories. To grow your following on Instagram, a lot of it comes down to consistently posting really valuable content for your audience. Your Instagram stories should be no different. Ask yourself, “does this provide value to my audience?”

3 – Add story arch using multiple slides

Instagram stories are fleeting so it’s essential that you grab your audience’s attention while you have it and hold their interest. A great way to do this is by including multiple stories that tell a story. Keep your audience engaged in your story so they will remember your brand and eventually take action. The more slides that you can add that are cohesive, the longer your audience will watch your stories.

4 – Include hashtags and location tags in stories

If you want to reach a larger audience there is a little known trick to Instagram stories. When you post stories you can include hashtags and hide them behind the image within your story. In a similar vein, you can also tag locations on Instagram stories and hide that as well.

5 – Take advantage of interaction features

One of the beautiful things about Instagram stories is that you can solicit feedback directly from your audience. Polls and questions are a great way to interact and hear your audience’s perspective on your product or service. As a brand, you can quickly get helpful information from your customers and your audience can feel heard. When you repost your audience’s answers the community can see and relate.

To wrap up, Instagram stories have provided a more authentic level of interaction on Instagram. Using Instagram stories can help your brand reach more customers in a fun and unique way. Test some of these strategies out and take note as to what you observe.
